[Tutorial] Banning Players Using the Console
[Tutorial] Banning Players Using the Console
Banning Players Using Console
first type "status" in console
then you will see a list of all the players, ip's, steam id's and slot number in the console
the slot number will be the first number on the left, you should see its kinda in order from 1-18
we are going to ban using the slot number because thats the easiest way
now that you know which slot number the player is located in that you want to ban, lets say the player is in slot 10
type "tempbanclient (slot#)" and the player will dissappear, so type "tempbanclient 10"

NOTE: This is temp banning someone from your server, not VAC banning!

I would also add some other ways and more info:
- sv_kickBanTime 3600 | Sets the ban time
- clientkick | Kicks the player so if for any reason they could come back
- kick john | Good easy and fast method for people who dont have super fancy names

So I assume it means seconds in order to equal an hour or 60 minnutes.
And yes, kick john command DOES really work. It's good for people that don't have fancy names. And i think if there name is like john doe you can do kick "john doe" with the name in parentheses and it will work.
PS: this is also helpful when you type status and people keep talking and you cant see it because it's been covered up by more commands.

Thats when you type status and clientkick or tempban.
And yeah 3600 would be an hour and if you really hate someone do like 31536000 that bans them for a whole year, 365 days.
I figured this by taking 3600 being one hour and * by 24 making 86400 then taking that and * that by 365. Which equals... 31536000.
but it will still show up as 2 zobmies would it??? whatever...ill just kik both ^^

Well I think you would tell them apart because of there position in the game. Like to guys named "john" and "john" ones at the very top ones at the bottom, I would assume in status they would label the names "john" and "john(1)" or something. try it yourself. I'm sure that it's not a complete dead end. I dunno.
