i use steam

Go to games, right click on MW2 Multiplayer.. properties.. and look for updates..

Make it auto... I will look for screens in a sec.

U need to update your game

Verify integrity of game cache. To do this open the steam menu, right click modern warfare 2 and click properties. Go to local and select verify integrity of game cache.
