Communities: Halo 3 vs. MW2
This isn't a "which game is better" thread, because I don't care. Game play wise, I thoroughly enjoy BOTH games. However, I've been playing MW2 for two months straight with no breaks, and have just began my return into Halo 3 territory.
Now the first thing I noticed is how awkward it was getting back into the Halo 3 groove. Different control schemes, different physics, and different overall tactics made getting back into the game harder than I expected.
After I finally started getting my 2/3 overkills a game like normal (not a lot, i know, but honestly, i'm not the greatest at the game), I noticed something rather significant between the two games:
The Douchebag : Decent People ratio is A LOT higher in MW2 than in Halo 3. Maybe it's just the party's i'm stuck in, but it seems like in Halo 3, people are actually mature and intelligent enough to carry out a normal conversation.
You say "Hey, how are you doing?" in a Halo lobby, and the person responds "Good man, how about you?". In MW2, the response is almost always a smurky repose by a teenage (and sometimes prepubescent) douchebag with social issues and his junk in a knot.
Throughout the game, the MW2 players are constantly bitching like little kids about other players, or how unfair their death was. And, if by some act of God, I'm having an off day, MW2 players don't hesitate to remind me every 15 seconds. Normally it's followed by reticule pertaining to my low intelligence (which, HA, I got a 35 on the ACT. I'm not to worried there.). I find most games, I just end up muting everybody because their prattle (look at me using sophisticated words now.. haha) is un-nerving.
Maybe it's just me, but i wanted to know what y'all think about this.
Much Appreciation,
John
