My first impression is that you will probably not complete this endeavor. One should not put a time limit on such a thing as acquiring knowledge. I understand this is a problem with the American school system as well, that one simply takes a course for a certain amount of time, and regardless of his scores or knowledge the class is advanced to the next grade as a lump group. This ideology is not beneficial to learning. Rather since you are teaching yourself I presume your goal should be simply to learn the language to the best of your ability so that you can be knowledgeable and efficient in C/C++. For me this was when I no longer needed to look back at a book for reference, except rarely when confronted with an obscure or uncommon concept that I might have forgotten.
Long Enough
You never fully learn a language, especially one like C++ - it is an ongoing task .

Watch what you say.
It's possible to learn a language fully. I can learn Every word. All grammar. Every spelling. Every pronunciation. Etc.
It depends how much effort you put into it.. You can't generalize something like this.
Really long
