this tiny tool helps you in the process of easily extracting & injecting subtitle/dialogue text data from COD: BO's .ff files (only for PC) located in your \zone\lang folder, where 'lang' stands for your game language.
With it, you can easily create your own translations/localizations.
Create back ups! Back up all .ff files before injecting anything into them as this process is irreversible unless you backup!
Further instructions and info are in the supplied read_me.txt. UPDATE: v1.1:
Fixes issues regarding wrong detection of strings in certain languages. Can inject/extract dialogue and all other textual elements as well.
Some other elements such as on-screen instructions etc can also be edited, which allows for translation into some other language. I've seen people asking around that they want to translate Black ops, so here's one possible solution to that.
LOL Manipulator
hahah this should be fun hahaha...
Before: MASON! Grab that MG and take out those VC!
After: MASON! Run to KFC and get me a bucket of chicken to throw at the VC!
ahah this would be fun..=D great.
Soon people will start do let's play with subtitles they manipulated XD.
This is epic.
Tested and works.
/Approved.
this is gonna make for some fun screenies
good work
Thanks, guys!
Here is a little update; it seems the first version had some issues regarding different languages, it didn't detect some strings. This version should fix those issues and also detect all textual elements, not just subtitles.
Feel free to report bugs of any kind to chronic@gljivolog.com
NOTE: This version is not compatible with the .txt files the previous version (v1.0) extracts! You'll need to delete those .txts, and extract them from the .ff files once more. Only that way you will be able to properly inject with v1.1
