Okay so I looked around and didn't see a thread on this so I decided to put one up myself. I think this is the right section..
For most school computers they disable CMD Prompt for security reasons. There is an easy way to get it open without doing anything confusing. In order to open up CMD Prompt you do this:

First Part - For Computers With Own Login
This is the step for people who have to log in with there own username.
Step 1-
Open up "My Computer" after logging in.
Step 2-
Go to your user drive and right click - New > Notepad
Step 3-
Type into the notepad "COMMAND.COM" no quotes and case sensitive.
Step 4-
Save as "cmd.bat" into your drive.
Step 5-
Do what you want to do in CMD Prompt after opening it.

Second Part - For Computers Without Login
This is for computers without a user login mostly for Elementary I believe.
Step 1-
Open up Notepad.
Step 2-
Go to Step 3 and read down.

This is very easy so don't flame about how easy it is or how you knew how to do this. The reason people would want to open up CMD Prompt in school is to: Shutdown the network, unblock sites, etc. There is a variety of things you can do in CMD Prompt.
