Don't buy Dell.
Whats your price range? Whats your knowledge base with computers?
You want them to build it or you?

i know the basis, 700-1000, and dell doesnt make good laptops, and the decent ones r overpriced >.<
not for hardcore gaming but could still run games like call of duty or l4d2 not to difficulty
just try hp, sony, and asus... you dont seem to be too needy i guess.

I got my laptop for $600 due to some hacked coupon code I stumbled upon. It was supposed to cost $1400. The Asus one with the EXACT same specs was like $1500. Same approximate price is same approximate price.
desktop replacement laptop, 17 in screen, nvidia with optimus technology, 4-6 gb ram, good sound+picture quality(mabye 1080p screen) 650gb+ hardrive, optical drive, and the small stuff have to be good to(touchpad fan etc)
