whe i enter crossfire the xtrap box is loading then a error appears , its said

i copy the game from the computer of my brother i copi the file crossfir.exe and when the game is loading .. again appears that error (file is changed crossfire.exe) or HWGC.exe

There are several ways to fix this issue;
1. The most common solution is completely re-installing Crossfire - You must perform a clean installation - this is to say remove any component of Crossfire from your computer, Please follow this tutorial ;

You must re-download from Z8agesm or an alternative download - do not run the set-up again or from another computer.

2. Some programs interrupt normal Crossfire game play, the most common are an Anti-Virus or Firewall is conflicting with Crossfire's normal gamer performance. 3. Some people have problems with Xfire and Crossfire running simultaneously - Try disabling Xfire when in game. Alternative voice chatting programs;

4 . From Z8games
Go to ur program list and look for your z8 games folder, crossfire folder. inside the crossfire folder, look for the file version.ini. right click the file and open the properties tab. uncheck the read only button and click ok to apply. next, open the version.ini file. it should be in a note pad similar format. look for the file -latest version. change the number to 1054 and save the file. right click the version.ini file again and check back the read only button. You should be able to play now, this way saves so much more time than to download the game. Good luck! Cheers!!

Some viruses tend to replicate themselves to other executables, crossfire.exe being one of them (especially if you run it a lot). So first thing you need to do is get an AV and scan your whole PC thoroughly. Only then proceed to any attempts to "fix" it, since if you reinstall but still have the virus, it could just infect crossfire.exe again

i was facing this proplem b4 and i reinstalled the game and it was perfect
