hello mpgh community this is my first post and I am having a problem when installing minecraft mods.
when i go to the jar file of minecraft (minecraft.jar) I install a mod (ea minecolony) once i have it installed i make sure that the META-INF file is deleted. when i delete the meta inf file i get black screen and when I still have the meta inf file in the Minecraft.jar file i can play but the mod does not funtion. This has only happened with the torrented versions from thepiratebay.org like beta version 1.3_01 and the newest 1.4 beta. in general the mod does not funtion when i use a cracked version so i do not know what to do, if someone could please give me some help i would appreciate the help very much. I am also not very sure if i posted this in the correct place of the minecraft forums. also a little side note, i have used minecraft mod manager and im going to try TFC today to see if i can get the mods to work.

You should first off make sure your version of the mod is compatible with your version of the game.
yes it is, although im not sure if dave has updated his server files to 1.4_01, do you know if he has, i will check after i get home from school but if you know please tell me. also when i get home i will test to see if it works.

can soemone please help me i just tried it with 1.4_01 from mpgh minecraft server and they dont work. btw what happened to 303s spawnlist
i alos was just trying this on my friends computer but it also didnt work. fortunately i figured out what the problem on his computer was, but unfortuneately i did not find out how to fix it. this error might also happen on my computer but im not sure yet.
see when i was on his computer i was in the appdata of the administrator account and the folder in documents and settings was called administrator. this seemed strange to me since his username was sushibox. so then i went to shared files and went to the files of sushibox and figured out that there is a folder in his documents and settings that has the name of sushibox. the wierd thing is that i cannot see the folder, cannot go into it. cannot see the files inside of it (if i search) and cannot use the command prompt. now i know very well that the folder options of show hidden files is correct but i still cant see that folder so i cant even try to place the mods. can anyone give me any help if they have ever had this error on their PC

did you use the compatible modloader?

when you say that what do you mean. do you mean that the version is the same version that minecraft is on or is it one modified for the pirated version

Get that, run it, and hit Force update.
When its done, close minecraft, and then get to your .minecraft folder.
Open minecraft.jar with whatever you use (I use 7zip)
Drag in only the class files to the jar
Delete META-INF
Close and test.
If you did all that, chances are that the mod is not compatible, or more likely, requires mod loader. Another case would be like the planes mod, which more than just class files are needed to install. So what exact mods are you trying to use? I need links along with the names if you will.

thank you heartview i will test that solution when i go to my friends house and if it doesnt work i wll get back on this topic and try and find some more solutions, have a great spring break.
Lol i have same problem. and i swear i do everything right. owell.
well i think ti depends i actually found that the problem was emerging from the fact that my friends user account doesnt appear in his documents and settings folder which therefore doesnt allow him to have access to minecraft files. BTW his computer has a virus that is very powerful but i neutralized it but it is still on his comp so the areas that were originally affected stay affected.

omg heartview humans mod works this is sooooo awesome. love you no homo thank you so much this is epic im gonna test plane mod and so many other mods right now its gonna wreak havoc. if i still have any problems with other mods i will tell you thank you so much
