Put corn starch in bowl (A reasonable amount, not too little)
Add small amounts of water to the corn starch so you dont have too much water
Stir with fork and occasionally touch with finger
Stop adding water when the contents of the bowl is like a thick syrup
Add food dye if you want
Now, slowly push your index finger through the material.
The material should feel thick
Slowly pull your finger out.
Here's the fun part. Hit the contents of the bowl with your finger..or fist(if the bowl is wide enough). The contents will temporarily turn into a solid.
Reasoning: When the contents are pressed on with force or speed, the water is pushed out of the material, thus making it solid, and quickly turning back to liquid
Same effects if you do it with Sodium acetate - Ima go find some corn starch.
But can you sculpt with the material?
If you sculpt with it it will stand for maybe 1 second and then liquify.
Its almost impossible to keep it a solid for more than one second
Damn, Would be nice to make a sculpted heart and give it to someone special.
And when they break your heart you can make them slowly poke it :O
Hmm seems cool. I'll do it some other time when I have the stuff. Since were talking about science stuff, What would happen if an unstoppable force hit an unmovable object? It would disappear.
It's a colloid. It's not a solid or a liquid. Kinda in between...It's called -ooblek or opplick-... A lot videos you'll finded on youtube...

Funny ooblek video
Hm, maybe thats how all those walking on water tricks are done
Maybe.... I wonder
I don't think so, cause for those walk on water tricks they have clear tiles that you can walk on. This stuff is white and has other stuff.
