Would look better if there was shadow on the Z to make it look like it was going under the G rather than look like a part of it.
Instead of shadow, may I sugest bevel&emboss?
And I like the orange one better.

Nice concept, but make sure the shapes flow together. The bottom left "corner" of the Z doesn't fit too good with the curve of the G.
May I suggest something like this:
Adding some shadows makes the Z look like "folded". Don't mind the execution, it's just an example.
Also: I'd rather go for a 1px line under the text, rather than just enabling Underline.
That way you can position it better.
