Even if you didnt use topaz the added sharpening and effects still don't look good you also need to work on your text placement
The blue effects are alright though

The first one is really good. But in the second one the blue colour doesn't fit the tattoo colour on his right hand.

Can someone explain to me what topaz is? I liked his work but you seem to say its not good cause of topaz, as if its a cheating method, someone explain, google didnt do the job for me.

Anyways lay off the topaz and tone down the sharpness. Text needs better placement too.

Topaz is an image enhancement plugin for photoshop.

it does the cleaning and sharpening for you.
