How to change your default char.

So you want to change your char? First download a char you want. Google it for minecraft skins. Download it. Locate your minecraft.jar folder which will be for windows

%appdata% - roaming - minecraft
Mac - User-Library-Application Support - Minecraft- Bin- Minecraft.jar

Find the mob folder and delete the char.png.

Find your downloaded char and name it char.png and place it into the mob folder

Play and see your new char!

IMPORTANT:If you have texture packs installed, it will not work( only some texture packs make a new char work)

Seems like as soon as something gets bumped to the second page, people always remake the thread.

This is an insufficient guide, you do not state which programs to use.

You must use a program that can write a file into the mobs folder.
Extracting the folder, placing char.png then compressing does not work.

You have also failed to state that the "monster" mob will look like you, and everyone in multiplayer using the "steve" or "monster" image will not look exactly like you.

In other words, anyone using the cracked client will look like you from your computer.
