Crossfire is a rip off?

Hey everybody i've heard some people say crossfire is a Counter-strike rip-off and some people say that crossfire is OLDER than CS let's get some thing clear!
"On June 19, 1999, the first public beta of Counter-Strike was released."
and..
"G4Box and Wicked Interactive have announced that the open beta for "Cross Fire", an online military first-person shooter, will launch tomorrow.
"The Open beta will go live tomorrow, Friday, January 30, 2009 at 12 PM EST""
wich means CS is 10 years older than crossfire? crossfire could be a Rip-off but im not sure.. crossfire has different in-game features such as save money and buy permanent weapons buy characters level up. counter-strike has an in-game community that is every game you save up money to buy weapons but you dont have an own account to level up or to buy weapons to keep forever you just buy weapons that you use in that game. ( wich i prsonally think is BORING ) so i got some facts but CROSSFIRE IS NOT OLDER THAN COUNTER-STRIKE! i hope this CLEARS some rumors!
