Win7 vs Dated Games

Beggars cannot be choosers, and I am fully aware. But I cannot hold back my curiosity. Why is it that coders on this site try so hard to pretend people who play games as dated as Combat Arms and Project Blackout are using Windows 7?

I'm sure there are the users with high end systems who play these games because hacks are easily accessible, but I truly believe the majority of the player-base for these have dated computers and thus are likely running XP. Otherwise we would be in a more modern shooter, there are many.

But really, is it considerably easier to do memory writing on Windows 7? Or what is the reason for this?

Because most of them have windows 7 installed and don`t bother for XP anymore ?

Generations move on...
I guess its just their preference, some coders here are still using Windows XP to code.

I wasn't trying to imply that no-one uses Windows 7, of course. Just that it seems more logical to equate players of old games with users of older OS. My guess has to be that memory writing must work differently.
