No,I found a way to use it to your advantage and infinitely create with whatever material you plan on duplicating .
Ex: Diamonds,Wood,Iron,Etc

Requirements: 1 of the material you wish to use infinitely/duplicate infinitely.
First create a crafting bench.
Then open it.
Put the 1 material into the crafting bench and press esc.
2 Drop,but you'll only pick up 1.
You can now use that block in your inventory infinitely.
Open the crafting bench again.
Right click and drag the block into the recipe you want.

How to efficiently start a new minecraft world?
Find a tree.
Collect 2 wood.(Not wooden planks.)
Create 4 Wooden Planks.
Craft that into a Crafting Bench.
Place the last Wood Block into the crafting bench and press escape.
Pick the 1 block back up.
Open crafting bench.
Right click wood and craft 4 Wooden Planks
Repeat Previous step till proft.
