I seriously doubt he could play lag free on medium with that ancient graphics card.

Require? Probably not. Specs aren't even released yet, but what they have said is if you can run BFBC2 you will at least be able to run BF3, even if it's only on the lowest settings.

Yeah I don't think there is any game that would require a quad core. A lot of dual cores are sometimes as good as Quad cores.

If you can run bfbc2 on highest with no lag you should be able to run Bf3 on medium with no lag.

I run bfbc2 atm on lowest graphics will still a little lag in some spots, not a lot.

There's a chance you'll be able to play BF3 on the same settings you play BC2 on.
From what I've heard, the optimization this time around is much better, so the game won't be making super computers suck its' dick...which is currently what it seems like.
