How cheats get detected

That's not really responding to what he asked..
It's rather hard to explain but i'll give it a shot.
Punk Buster follows instructions when ''Scanning'' the game's data, looking for -functions- that are registered in it as ''Malicious'' or ''Hacking Attempts'', If a player is using an outdated hack that was previously detected, PB will read over the Hacking Function's Code, detect it and ban you.
What you have to do to avoid getting banned is making a working code of your own using your own ways to create it, keeping it undisclosed and never releasing it anywhere. That plus not showing off and being obviously acting suspicious in game will help you never get banned.

if that's the case then what is the point of releasing a private hack to the public if it's just gonna get detected in a matter of days?
