My headset is shown as a speaker.

I got a new headset and when I pluged them in it didn't install any drivers (I dunno if it needs any drivers) but usually it does. But it didn't and it worked perfectly, the only thing that annoys me about them is that it doesn't have any bass, so I asked my little brother to test his headset (he has got the same headset) and it got bass and I looked up on my computer and sound devices and I couldn't find on the list that I had any headset pluged in, only the speakers. I looked everywere on the internet and didn't find any answers.

my computer is a ASUS K52JV
my OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
My headset is KOSS SB/45

The laptop has no way of determining whether you have a headset attached or speakers, hence it just calls them "speakers" in a generic fashion. You can change the icon and rename them, if you feel that it will make it clearer As for the bass, your headphones can't be really said to be that bassy, I dunno what you're expecting
