How to increase wifi speed-ish.

Hi. Last night I saw this post on reddit. His wifi source was a from USB stick. He put a pot over it like it was a satellite bouncer bowl thingy. The speed of his downloads which was previously 0.91 mbps boosted to 13.50 mbps. I don't have a picture because its lost forever in the internet but you can try. Using foil shaped into a bowl would be nice to get more. idk. im a noob. i dont know where to post this so ill just dump this here.
