Simple as that. I also read the forum post in the link you provided. There is a link to the steam forums that shows the FoV as white listed but ONLY with the approved file provided by Xifon (The maker of the Mw3SA and Reporting Tool) which tells me that any other form of FoV is still a high risk since there is probably some workaround for how his program is changing the FoV compared to yours or others provided. We can flame about this all we want but it is like you said, use at your own risk.
