What is up with the edges and the yellow glow around a red font?

I dunno the edges went a bit wrong, I just wanted to add some brushes xD.
The yellow glow around text I just thought looked good.

Hey jo3, in most your siggnatures if you look carefully you have lines crosshatched, how do you have that??
