Uninstall it first from your computer, then download and install DirectX again: Download: DirectX End-User Runtime - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

Do you have all the requirements OTHER than Direct X?
Because for direct X just do what @Hero told you.

Open up windows task manager, find hid.dll and end its process.

nothing appears in task manger

Maybe you're missing hid.dll. According to the XTrap error, it says the tool name is 'hid.dll'. Maybe it's not running because you're missing the dll.

I've uploaded it. Put this .dll file in your C:\Windows\System32 folder.

, If that doesn't work, then re-install crossfire again in safe mode.
