On some private hives it's more risky because they may have added more anti-cheat measures into there server which would ban / kick you instantly for mostly everything you try do, I have also seen private hives which can monitor your inventory and map positions which flags any illegal weapons which will most likely get you banned later. But that isn't a global ban, Just a ban from that server. As n1kko said, If it has battle eye then expect the same risk on the private hive.
