Ok, you guys busted me. However, I was not intentionally giving anyone a virus. Let me tell my story:
I'm pretty deeply involved in the warez scene. I work as a courier for a couple topsites, and one of the perks of the job is being able to grab any nice piece of warez that interests you. About three months (not weeks) ago, one of the pieces that I grabbed was this archive. Inside the archive, there was a readme. It detailed how the cracker had downloaded this program, cracked it, and released it. Unfortunately, I was so amazed at the program that I didn't think to even check if it was free or not. See, the problem with warez is that after it's been distributed from the topsites to the public, that's when people grab it, infect it, and repost it. Anything from a topsite is considered virus free, and, up until now, has been, in my experience. I ran the crack and program myself, and thought it worked fine. That was three months ago, and my credit card hasn't been stolen, and nothing is wrong with any of my accounts (if it's any consolation, I'm pretty the person screwed up the configuration on whatever keylogger he included, so at least all our accounts are safe). But anyway, I have this great piece of software. I also have a huge debt to this forum for downloading and using the hacks. That was not bullshit. Neither was me trying to give something back. So I figured, what's the harm in posting it and saying that I broke the protection? People would appreciate my contribution. I decided to do this. Once I was posting it, I realized that people would go crazy because the crack was a false positive, and start accusing me of shit. See, in the warez scene, especially with warez you get from a trusted source like a topsite, everyone knows about false positives, and hardly ever questions them. However, I knew that people here don't have that much experience, and since I didn't want to tell anyone where I got it, I decided to just scan Bruter.exe, and explain the false positive part if and when anyone asked. I guess I was wrong though. It isn't a false positive, and Bruter is free. I'm really sorry for not knowing this, and even though I'm probably going to get banned, I wanted to let people know that I did have good intentions. Sorry again.
