Question about VAC ban

Couple of years ago I had an account with CS:S, I played for sometime and then gave it to my friends because I didn't give a damn about it anymore.
So .. now I feel like playing Gary's Mod ~ and I see it needs a Source game to work. So my question is, will I be able to play Gary's mod online with a vac banned CS:S or I'll have to buy a new CS:S ? anyone ?

I'm VAC banned from CS:S but gmod still works perfectly fine for me.

Vac bans arn't active in GMOD so ya
