There were sales like 6 days ago, and the game was dirt cheap, and no there is no way to get a free cd key unless you steal it the retail version of L4D2 from a store or break into Steam's database and steal it from there (if they even store them there).

Steal a retail version of a game at the store? If you want to end up with a criminal record you do that. Just buy the game there is no way to get a free key.

It is a "free" way to get the game isn't it? And yes, the only legit way of getting it, is buying it.
