GTA4 fighting?

Yeah i just got gta4 for ps3 and im so shit at fightin n i always c these dudes on youtube do all these counters n back kicks n shit. so anyone know how to do it?

it was the same for me with my xbox for my xbox i would tap or press A when someone is about to punch after niko ducks, press Y or B

so since u have ps3, try tappin X and then after the duck, pres (Triangle) or (Circle)
