I hope this will stop the flood of useless comments on the newest thread and in the help request section.
ONLY POST HELP IF YOUR PROBLEM HASN'T BEEN FIXED BY ONE OF THE KNOWN PROBLEM FIXES BELOW!

KNOWN PROBLEM FIXES:
Q: I edited my hosts file, and ran the proxy correctly, but I am still getting a socket security error?
A: You may be playing on the loader (realmofthemadgod webside) or on a client that isn't set as trusted. To set your client to trusted, do as following:
1. Right click the flash player, go to global settings, advanced, and scroll down

2. Select trusted locations, and add your client to the trusted locations


Q: How do I edit my hosts file?
A: You have to go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc then drag your hosts file to the desktop, open it in a text editing software and add the appropriate ip for redirecting the server to your proxy, if you aren't sure, just use IzLife's Realm Relay GUI
If you are on a mac you are going to have to figure it out yourself. (If anyone knows please leave a comment so I can add it)

Q: All I get is listener problem, help!
A: Make sure you are only running 1 realm relay, if you are positive you are close all the javaw.exe's in your task manager then try it again. Otherwise, you might have corrupted the files and need to redownload them.

I will be adding more to this thread as more bugs are found, but for now I think I have covered the majority.

Spoilers weren't working for me, someone please put them around the known fixes.

The majority of those who post about problems with RR do not bother with describing the problem or posting errors. The most common problems have been covered over and over in the RR release threads. Any bright, motivated individual should already be quite capable of finding this information. That said, unique RR help requests should be posted in the RR thread for the current version.

I agree completely with the above most of the problems people experience have been discussed and solved in the relevant released threads , however most people don’t take the time to read a complete thread, these types of people are the casual users and have little experience with the internal workings of software or OS.

I find it quite odd that you stickied this thread here. Every other stickied thread here is official information about the RotMG section. If anything this thread should be in http://www.mpgh.net/forum/655-realm-...help-requests/.

Written Problem: How do i put a script into RR, and execute it inside of the game, Also, how do i proceed after the RR Listener has started, nothing happens afterward. (Or is that what the Realm Listener problem is?)

All files in the scripts/ folder with the extention .js will be used. RR should be running before trying to connect. If you have problems after that make sure you have followed the directions in the readme.txt and check the FAQ here.

The script help is only a reference. To make RR scripts you need to know JavaScript and have an understanding of how packets work. If you do not know JavaScript, then look up tutorials online. To get a better understanding of packets, examine some of the RR scripts that have already been published by the community.

The documentation consists of everything it should. You cant jump into this without knowing a lanugage based off of the C syntax / a bit of java.

I'm trying to use RR with projector and a client created through the Mod Selector.
After reading through numerous threads, and following all instructions to the best of my ability (yes, I set the client to trusted) and I added the line in hosts, I did everything required and yet kept getting socket error when trying to login to USEast3.
After reading the 17.3 Mod Selector thread there was a saying to delete the line inserted to the host file and try
While this enabled me to connect to USEast3 without a problem, I don't see any notification and the cmd of RR isn't displaying anything other than the first line.

I have properly set up java and have killed all instances from task manager/restarted multiple times.

I hope I elaborated enough for someone to help me. Sorry about the bad English, it's not my first or even second language.
