What language? And whos going to keep making the Signatures for the Databases? Your better off doing a behavioral based one with features similiar to threat fire and procguard. And you might as well include a Bi directional firewall and A simple IDS that checks for inconsistancies in the 7 layers of the OSI model.

.NET is Visual Studio 2002+
Therefore, VB .NET Is VB 7+/VB 2002+

I quit on the virus names, because it was too annoying

So I told bombsaway I will add other stuff, like design, and codes to prevent from any errors, and a lot other stuff

Virusnames??!
If you make a scanner based on names, its not gonna work!
You need to make a file insight, scanning for certain algorithims,
a virus can easily change its name....
Like when i have a virus (lets say @ C:\Windows\System32\virus.exe), it can easily change itself to C:\Documents And Settings\Users\Admin\Combatarms.exe (<<example)

You see....
Names is NOT gonna work.

Not really names, it has the locations they will be in. Most of the bad viruses (Trojans) will have certain names, and they will be the same too.
They have those names and locations so they can be hidden, so some one who created the virus makes one with that name, and makes TONS of copies

You need to program the antivirus to scan for certain algorithims, stings, etc.. (file insight).
Without that its not an antivirus but more some kind of watchdog...

The Scanner will, its only the first part of it that scans for paths. First it scans for known virus paths, then it scans all of your files for strings.
