1. i dont know vb.net

2. multithreading is when you create multiple threads which might or might not return data to the thread creating parent to make a process which takes a long time to process but not a long time to call happen more rapidly

No.
Conceptually speaking, threading is a way of having more than one thing happen at the same time.
Note that Java has no real concept of "child" threads.
When you start a thread it inherits the daemon and priority from the "parent" but that's the end of the parent/child relationship.
