Too make one gun look like another? (QUESTION)

I have been messing around with .rez files for about a week making a couple ok skins and stuff and I think after some practice im ready to move on. From what I think (correct me if im wrong) if you edit the anibase rez (just rename it and inject it back in) will the file u renamed it as go as that gun?

Lets say this..... i take the g36e anibase and rename is as the l96a1, than delete or move the original l9, and than inject will it look like a g36 in game? or will it change the RoF at all?

Can someone please clear this up and tell me how to change the RoF and the looks of a gun.... (not skins but actual model)

i HAVE been lol...... every time I have epicly failed because I am not l33t at this..... I just need an opinion from someone on the mod team or something.... I have seen these mini guns as default weapons and stuff and I would like to be able to make my own..... i like my own mods rather than downloading them off a hacking website,,,, no offense to anyone

i tried this before and i got the blue screen of death try it and see if it works for you
i they're diffrent sizes but so it might not work

your gettin there...but the anibase is basically the only thing you dont do anything with.

So, if the anibase is left untouched.... do you rename all the other ones to match up to the gun your trying to switch it to? and would you still have to inject it again if its already re-named and the old files are moved or deleted?

basically...im gonna tell you this.

as far as i know, you can only change models within their own class (ar, smg, mg) except the minigun and a few other specialist items.

for most guns within their own class, there are at least these 3 files:
- pvmla_GunName
- pvmla_w_GunName
- pvmsh_GunName

im sure you can figure it out from here...
