Well since that video is biast, towards the student, here is the story.
From that article the Student was basically doing **** he shouldn't have. In that video he was even more vulgar with the officers. People just dramatized this whole incident especially the students. "OMG LIEK ****ING PIGS". Overboard? Yes. Surprising? No.
Something you don't do to an officer or someone in charge regardless is yell at them, curse at them, and **** with them so to say. That'll just get the guy with the gun pissed.
At around 11:30 p.m., CSOs asked a male student using a computer in the back of the room to leave when he was unable to produce a BruinCard during a random check. The student did not exit the building immediately.
The CSOs left, returning minutes later, and police officers arrived to escort the student out. By this time the student had begun to walk toward the door with his backpack when an officer approached him and grabbed his arm, at which point the student told the officer to let him go. A second officer then approached the student as well.
The student began to yell "get off me," repeating himself several times.
It was at this point that the officers shot the student with a Taser for the first time, causing him to fall to the floor and cry out in pain. The student also told the officers he had a medical condition.
UCPD officers confirmed that the man involved in the incident was a student, but did not give a name or any additional information about his identity.
Video shot from a student's camera phone captured the student yelling, "Here's your Patriot Act, here's your ****ing abuse of power," while he struggled with the officers.
As the student was screaming, UCPD officers repeatedly told him to stand up and said "stop fighting us." The student did not stand up as the officers requested and they shot him with the Taser at least once more.

Yes you may have a point, but look how many times they shocked him? They wanted him to get up? The police is suppose to give equal treatment, not just on how much they "like" you.
Also, the guy tried to ask for all the police men's names, and he told him he would tazer him.
They should loose their rights. They aren't real policemen.

LA police officers have been known for their brutality. Shocking the guy with a taser that many times and expecting him to get up is pretty stupid.

TO avoid all of it, he could of simply replied, "Yes officer, I will complie."

The LA police department does not represent all of the United States, for those who say all US police officers are pigs, well then you have never seen a real cop.

Ok let me put this simply.. the kid may have been doing certain things wrong and its enough to arrest him, but tasering a non-hostile person is certainly using too much force, and doing it several times is just plain abusive. If the cops really wanted to take him out easily without force... handcuff his hands and legs and carry him out.
Secondly, he was asked for his badge number and made a threat towards the student. An officer has to atleast give his badge number if asked.
It is clear that this is another sign of the LAPD using brute force to arrest someone and it went well beyond their limits. They should be fired. I believe when i read the report, it said that they were continuing the investigation. Pretty much, they tried to cover it up fairly easily and say it was the students fault, but now that there is so much attention on the issue.. they are forced to reopen the case and hopefully will fire these officers.

I personally wouldn't be the one to be saying, "I would comply" after trying to leave the building and them stopping me... And then shocking me? WTF?

it is illegal as i said before, to tazer a man that many times, which could have very easily stopped his heart, once, maybe twice at most, but not those many times, the guy was probably too weak to get up after the second one, these guys need to go through a course that teaches them the effects of a tazer on a fucking human body before tazering a man a billion times, HE CANT GET UP AFTER HE'S BEEN SHOCKED with various amps of electricity
